ABOUT KARINA
Yu Ji-min (Hangul: 유지민), also known as Karina (Hangul: 카리나), was born April 11, 2000. She is the Leader, Main Dancer, Lead Rapper, and Sub Vocalist of the South Korean girl group aespa under SM Entertainment. She became an SM trainee in 2016 after being scouted on social media by an casting member for her immense beauty. She trained for four years and has proved herself as a “complete idol” being proficient in Dance, Vocals, and Rap. On October 27, 2020, Karina was revealed to be the second member of the new girl group aespa. She debuted with the group on November 17, 2020. Karina gained rapid popularity after debut, ranking number one on brand reputation twice in a row and being the first 4th generation idol to do so. She has since held on to that popularity, being known for her crazy selling power and continuously high rankings on naver searches. On December 27th, it was announced that Karina would be debuting in the first unit of SM’s female project group, Girls On Top. They made their first appearance as GOT the beat, by performing their debut digital single, "Step Back", at the SMTOWN Live 2022 : SMCU Express@Kwangya online concert on January 1, 2022. The official release was on January 3, 2022.
